Marmaris holidays the most searched over festive period

Posted by Robert McBride on December 29, 2010

According to some recent analysis from Thomas Cook, Marmaris holidays were the most searched for resort over the festive period. This was very much in line with the trend over the Christmas break which saw mainstream sun destinations dominate the most popular Boxing Day online searches at Thomas Cook’s flagship website – www.thomascook.com.

According to their analysis the following destinations were high on the list of destinations searched

  • Turkey
  • Spain
  • Cyprus
  • Egypt
  • Greece

Turkey also featured prominently on the late deals destinations searched, however Marmaris was well behind the most popular resort in Sharm el Sheikh here.

Much of this is very much in line with a traditional rise in holiday searches and bookings in the period after christmas through to February, where the majority of many travel organisations search budgets are utilised – including many operators offering holidays to Marmaris. Should this carry on it could be a bumper period for Marmaris during the Summer 2011 period.
